Most people in the working class live away from home and near where they work. With the paralyzing reality of student debt and heaping bills to pay, the only practical option is to live in a property with a bunch of other people. The most common place to find in the city are apartments.

It makes perfect sense that young adults would try to make their way in a location where there are many opportunities to get jobs. Cities like Ontario, Canada are filled with yuppies chasing the dream. Affordable rent apartments in Sudbury Ontario, while a good location, takes a lot of work. Apartment hunting is difficult if you do not know how to look.

So here are some tips to get you started with your quest to find a place to live in, without compromising living standards that much. First is to always ask for recommendations. Make an inquiry from your friends who are already situated in that location you also plan on staying. Chances are they also know other people who know a good place to stay.

There may be a good reason why the property owner would bind a tenant for 2 years. This is why you should check the cabinets thoroughly. If the first thing you smell when you enter the room is pesticide or any chemical designed to kill rodents, then the flat is likely to have a pest problem. The cabinets are a place where these creatures like to hang out, so you can be to find dropping and other disgusting things in there.

Gain enough courage to knock on the neighboring rooms and asking, politely, how it is like living in the area. Inform them that you might be moving in just for good measure. If there was anyone you knew who should be giving their opinion about the building and its owner it should be the people who already live there. It also gives you a good picture of remote company you might have to deal with if you decide to move in.

Make it a point to ask neighbors about the building. There are no other people better qualified to give you their two cents about living there as much as them. They may even tell you how the landlord acts like when you finally move in. It would be an unpleasant surprise if you found out later that the owner was not very nice or accommodating.

This also gives you a good picture of what you may have to deal with when it comes to neighbors if ever you decide to move in. Test the electrical sources and sockets. Make sure they all work. This helps you identify where to put all the things you might need to be plugged.

Good plumbing is expensive and it may be likely that the owner would not bother fixing the problem. A water problem would be the last thing you would ever wish for, especially if you plan on having visitors. When you have finally chosen a place, make it as an extra precaution to bring a camera with you.

Check the showers and all the faucets. Plumbing services are expensive and more often than not, landlords avoid attending to those issues. If they will then that is great, if they pass up on it then you might have to spend the rest of your stay constantly getting water from another area of the building. This also is especially bad when you have someone over.
